Seven Baby Name Trends You Are Sure To Love

The year is coming to a close which means that we get to look back on 365 days of baby names and the trends that resulted.

I must say, this year has proven to be a good one in the world of baby naming. We had a great resurgence of vintage baby names (as others may call grandma and grandpa style baby names) and many other amazing name trends and styles that appeared over the past year.

Now keep in mind that these are certainly just my opinion; but as someone who looks at, studies, and consults with people on names every day, I felt comfortable with my decision on these trends. When it came to deciding what styles/trends would make the cut I thought back on the most asked for and talked about amongst my followers, clients, and fellow name enthusiast. In no particular order, here are what I settled on:

You may notice that there is no specific “Vintage Baby Names” category mentioned. This is because while I was creating these lists I discovered that this trend was so overarching that it trickled into each of the categories mentioned above. Having another list of vintage baby names would have started to become redundant.

I did however curate a list of some fabulous Grandma/Grandpa style baby names to pay homage to those truly classic gems that have long carried that “old” vibe and are beginning to feel fresh and new again.

How These Style Categories Work

Below you will find the seven styles mentioned above with a list of fifteen names that fit within the category. These names are not meant to be a representation of the top or most used baby names in each category, but rather, they serve as a further explanation or a guide as to what the vibe of the style is.
