46 Names New To The Top 1,000 Boy Names
Written by Sarah at Adored Names
This May, the United States Social Security Administration released its most current baby name data. We now have access to all the details on the naming trends that took place in the year 2022.
Today we will be looking at names that were new to the USA top 1,000 boy names of 2022. Some names like London, Duncan, and Murphy are returning to the top 1,000 after dropping out for a moment. Other names like Teo, Kayce, and Waylen are appearing on the list for the first time.
Several names stand out to me for either their pop-culture relevance or their similarity to names rising in popularity on the girls list. Both factors may play into why a few of these names are gaining some traction.
Take for example the name Dutton: brand new to the top 1,000 and reaching as high as 835 for its first time on the list. It is not a surprise that this coincides with the rise of the popular television series, Yellowstone, that features this name.
Another name to look at is Aurelio. Aurelio is coming back to the top 1,000 after last being seen on the list in 1983. This follows suit with its feminine counterpart, Aurelia, which started gaining traction again in 2012 after being last seen in the girls top 1,000 in 1950.
If you are looking for an uncommon name that is starting to gain some favor, this is the list for you. Keep in mind though that some of the names on this list are alternative spellings to more common names. This would include names like Ezrah and Crue which are alternative spellings to Ezra and Crew.
Now, without further ado, let’s get into this list of 46 names that are new to the US top 1,000 boy names.
